Renewable Energy
Renewable Energy comes from regenerative resources
or from sources that for all practical purposes can not be depleted and has become
more important recently due to climate change
caused by pollution, exhaustion of fossil fuels, and the environmental risks of
fossil fuels and nuclear power. The
main source of renewable energy is solar energy or sunlight.
Biomass
The Wood Pellet Fuel used in our pellet stoves is classed as Biomass. Biomass ( bio fuel or bio energy) is obtained from organic matter such as wood, forest and agricultural residue..
Using biomass energy is classed as a 'carbon neutral' process because the carbon dioxide released during the generation of energy from biomass can be balanced by that absorbed by plants during its production. The use of Biomass has increased recently as we move more towards using renewable fuels.
The Environment
Wood pellet fuel is a renewable biomass product generally made of recycled wood waste such as sawdust, wood chips, wood shavings and off-cuts but now also beginning to be made from short rotation coppice wood. They are used in pellet stoves to generate economical and environmentally friendly wood heat while emitting almost no wood smoke.
